About

I'm Shay, and I've been doing IT for over 20 years. I started SNL-Tech Services to give small businesses a real IT partner, not a help desk. I didn't want my clients explaining who they are and what they have in place every single time they call. I know my clients and I know their business, inside and out.

A lot of my work is the hands-on side of security and compliance. I get businesses ready and do the actual technical work behind it, whether that's CMMC, HIPAA, FTC Safeguards, or just solid protection for a law firm, medical office, or small service business. I'm not an auditor and I don't sign off on certifications. I'm the one who does the work to get you there. I serve clients across Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, and the DMV, and offer remote services throughout the United States.

What I Check When I Do a Microsoft 365 Tenant Security Review
Most Microsoft 365 tenants I work with have security features that are licensed but never configured, policies that exist but aren't enforcing anything, and accounts that should have been cleaned up months ago. A proper tenant review covers licensing, identity and access controls, email protocol security, device management, Defender configuration, and more. If nobody has walked through your tenant, there's a good chance it's not as secure as you think. I was working in a client's Microsoft...

A landscaping client texted me on a Friday with a screenshot: was she CMMC Level 1, 2, or 3? Her bid was due that day and she had no idea. Here's what CMMC Level 1 for small business actually means, and how to answer the question honestly.
